BLACK ARTISTS DOMINATE GRAMMY NOMINATIONS

DEC 3RD, 2017 | BY TIFFANY GARCIA

It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for all year! The 60th Grammy Awards nominations have been released.

It has been reported, that the first time in history, there are no white men nominees for “Best Album of The Year”. Nominees include: Kendrick Lamar “DAMN”, Bruno Mars “24K Magic”, Jay-Z “4:44”, Lorde “Melodrama”, and Childish Gambino “Awaken, My Love!”

And the nominees for “Record of the Year” are:

  • Redbone, Childish Gambino

  • Despacito, Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber

  • The Story of O.J., JAY-Z

  • HUMBLE, Kendrick Lamar

  • 24K Magic, Bruno Mars

And the nominees for “Song of the Year” are:

  • Despacito

  • 4:44

  • Issues

  • 1-800-273-8255

  • That’s What I Like

And the nominees for “Best New Artist” are:

  • Alessia Cara

  • Khalid

  • Lil Uzi Vert

  • Julia Michaels

  • SZA

Queen Bee Beyonce is only nominated as a feature with husband JAY-Z for “Best Rap/Sung Performance” of Family Feud. It’s about time the Academy gave up the royal seat for some other amazing artist to take the thrown.

My winning predictions for this year are Kendrick Lamar “HUMBLE” for Record of the Year, Despacito for “Song of the Year” and SZA for “Best New Artist”.

Stay tuned for this year 2018 60th Annual Grammy Award show on January 28, 2018.
