Last week I had the pleasure of attending 99.7 NOW’s annual Triple Ho Show. Every December the radio station selects an array of musical talent to come to the bay area and put on a show. The concert was at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. Artists that performed were Kalin White, Zara Larsson, Hailee Steinfield, Meghan Trainor, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears and Justin Bieber. Tinashe also surprised fans by showing up to perform “Slumber Party”, her duet with Britney Spears. The four-hour show was filled with fun as 99.7 NOW DJ’s entertained the audience and artists gave their all. In addition, there were numerous meet and greets going on and a surprise Tinashe meet and greet where fans could enter to win in the front of the concert venue before the show.

The concert opened with a performance from Bay Area’s own Kalin White. White was apart of the pop duo Kalin and Myles, but earlier this year they took a break to pursue their own careers. White hit the stage and performed hit songs from his album Chapter 21, which was released earlier this year. White danced across the stage and opened the concert strong with excellent vocals and loads of energy.

After White perfomed, Zara Larsson hit the stage. She performed her breakthrough hit “Never Forget You” and her new song “Ain’t My Fault,” among other hits. Honestly I have been hearing songs by Zara, but I never knew what she looked like. She is so beautiful and her stage presence was amazing. She danced around the stage with two back-ground dancers hitting every move on point. She was for sure my second favorite performer.

Meghan Trainor was also good! I have been a big fan of her since “All About that Bass”, so seeing her live was everything.  My favorite part of the performance was her outfit! She came out very festive in a red dress, glittery boots and a Santa hat. Besides her outfit, her voice was angelic. Trainor sang all her hits including “NO”, “Lips Are Movin” and my personal favorite “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.”

The Backstreet Boys performance was for sure the best one the entire night. I was skeptical at first about if the Backstreet Boys were going to deliver, but they put on a SHOW. Howie, Kevin, Bryan, A.J., and Nick came together and performed all their hits. I literally felt the same excitement I had when I was ten years old. Hearing songs like “Larger Than Life,” “Everybody (Backstreets Back)” and “I Want It That Way,” was so nostalgic. Everybody’s voices and dance moves were on point like they were back in the early 2000’s. I personally was super impressed by Nick. Nick Carter was always my favorite member of the Backstreet Boys and seeing him up there brought tears to my eyes. I was sad when their set was over, but glad I got this experience after being a fan all these years.

I didn’t get to see Britney Spears perform, but I did get to see the grand finale of the concert… Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber was really good! I was upset that his set was only 28 minutes. Although I was confused at first when Bieber came out (he was wearing like basketball shorts and a hoodie), he sang his heart out and every dance move was crisp. Another nice thing about his performance was that he brought out his guitar. He did acoustic versions of “Cold Water” and “Love Yourself”, which the crowd loved. The best song Bieber performed was “What Do You Mean,” which is one of my favorite songs. I used to think he was corny, but last night I got to see a true example of a star. Can’t wait until Triple Ho Show 8.0 next year. I know it will be just as good and I can’t wait to attend.
