Cardi B surprised fans by dropping her mixtape on the day of the 2017 Inauguration. Cardi told fans via Twitter, “I didn’t plan for my mixtape to drop on the Inauguration, but I’m really happy that it did because it is such a depressing day, it’s kind of sad… but I hope my mixtape uplifts people and makes them happy.”

I became a Cardi B fan on a whim. I was flipping channels one day with nothing to watch and I saw Cardi B on the screen being… Cardi B. I was so intrigued on who this girl was and now I am a huge fan. Once I listened to her first mixtape Gangsta Bitch Music Volume 1, I realized that Cardi is really talented. Her music about fighting, relationships and confidence was giving me so much life and I didn’t have to skip a track.

Initially I was worried that the new mixtape wouldn’t be as good as volume one, but Cardi definitely delivered. My favorite songs on the mixtape are “Bronx Season”, “Pull Up” and “Lick.” “Bronx Season” is the first track and it is the perfect introduction for the mixtape. Cardi delivers nonstop bars and realness, as usual. “Lick” is one of my favorites, because it is a party song that I could see played in the clubs. It makes you want to turn up and it reminds me of “Back Then” by Mike Jones. The track describes how no one cared about Cardi, but now that she is famous everyone is treating her differently. “Hectic” is another track worth mentioning. It is sexy and a perfect song to drive too. Overall, I recommend listening to this mixtape. Stream it here!
