Nine Year Old Mariah Martinez was last seen on October 18, 2016 after she was taken from her home in Lubbock, Texas. Her mother, Amanda Martinez had just been issued a court order to have her three children removed from her custody including Mariah, Jeremiah Martinez, and Leimiah Martinez.
Mariah Martinez was found after a viewer who was watching A&E “Live PD” which aired a segment going over the Martinez case called with a tip of Mariah’s whereabouts. Amanda Martinez was brought to court after her boyfriend allegedly punched her five year old in the nose and threatened to kill the family by driving their car into a pond.
Police received a tip in January 2017 of the family’s whereabouts and found Amanda Martinez and her two other children, but not Mariah. Amanda was arrested on felony charges and was put into police custody. The mother had refused to give any information on Mariah's whereabouts.
The A&E Program ended asking viewers to contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). NCMEC posted on Facebook on Tuesday that Mariah was found with the help of the viewers tip.
Police have not released any other details regarding where the girl was located and who she was with. However, it is fortunate she was found safe and hopefully did not undergo any harm. It is also very impressive that a show such as “Live PD” which frequently airs cases like this was able to bring answers for Mariah Martinez’s case.
