TEEN PULLED OUT OF STORE AND FATALLY STABBED

July 5th, 2018 | by Aamina Guidry

Last Wednesday night fifteen year old Lesandro Guzman-Feliz was dragged out of the Cruz and Chiky Grocery store on East 183rd Street and Bathgate Avenue in Belmont. Guzman had ran into the convenience store thinking he would be safe from his attackers, but was dragged out by his sweater and fatally stabbed and beaten to death outside of the  store.

After the attack, the group of men who are responsible sped off in a car leaving Guzman-Feliz bleeding. He had ran to the hospital covering his neck, but unfortunately did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The victim’s seventeen year old sister, Genesis Collado-Feliz, stated he was a good student and enjoyed playing video games. He apparently knew the group of men who attacked him, who are a part of a gang, Guzman was not.

Many graphic videos have surfaced on the internet documenting the brutal and heinous attack, however the group of men are still at large and have not been captured. The group of men were part of the Trinitarios street gang, and according to Derek Grullon, boyfriend of the victim’s sister, a “Top Leader” of the gang had reached out to apologize and stated it wasn’t supposed to be Guzman-Feliz.

Lesandro Guzman-Feliz was a student at Dr. Richard Izquierdo Health and Science Charter School. He had dreams of becoming a police detective.
