RIP “FATS” DOMINO

Legendary jazz musician Antoine “Fats” Domino passed away on October 25, 2017. He died of natural causes at the age of 89.

Fats created iconic songs like “Blueberry Hill” and “Blue Monday” that inspired musical artists today such as Paul McCartney.

 

Well known for his right-hand piano triplets, Fats smooth sound was like no other, and was the cornerstone of New Orleans R&B.

 

In a time and place where segregation ruled, Fats’ audience was predominantly white and he sold more than 65 million records.

 

After touring for years, Fats settled down in his hometown of New Orleans.

 

He is survived by his children.
